It is no doubt that television is one of the great inventions in the world. It is very popular that nearly every family has one at home. Most of the people love television very much. Television really brings us many entertainments and tightens relationship among members. In this essay, I am going to argue that television has not destroyed the communication among friends and family.

Television can provide many chatting topics to us. Every evening, there are a series of television programmes showed on television. Since those programmes are showed at dinner time, most of the friends must have watched these programmes. As a result, we can chat with our friends about the content of those programmes. Therefore, television has created communication among friends.

Apart from creating common topics, only television can have enough attraction to let all the family members sit on the sofa together. So this obviously increases the time of gathering between the members in a family. Since if there is no television, the members in the family may do their own work in their room and never have time for chatting.
