156. Some students prefer study alone. Others prefer to study with a group of students. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

    Nowadays, most of the students have their individuals study habits. Some of them like to study alone and some of them like to study with a group of students. In fact, I prefer study alone to study with a group of students. In this essay, I will argue that study alone is better than a group study.

     Study in a group has some advantages. Students can share their study problems together and they can solve these problems together. This can create a team spirit.  Different students have different strengths, it can solve the problems more quickly. Helping one another will foster friendship. After solving problems together, students study individually , they can remember those problems more deeply.

I like to study alone in my studies or in the library, rather than in a study group. Both of these places are very quiet for me to study.  I can concentrate on my study and I will not be disturbed by others. As a result, I study efficiently. I can work on additional exercises to reinforce the points or skills that I have learnt.  I can understand the topic more thoughly. If I come across a problem, I can read some reference books or ask my classmates.

    Unlike self-study at home,  study in group can be another type of study, but it is not suitable to me . Students like to study  together, but they always diverted their attention to something else, other than the subject that they intend to study.  Very often, they are off track from the topic, and talk something unrelated to it. Sometimes, group members are of different abilities. The one of higher abilities may not share the ideas with others, while the low ability group has nothing to share.  It is time-wasting.  Moreover, students will be disturbed because we discuss openly in a public area, say, in a classroom, or in the school canteen. . Besides, they will play or chat together rather than study.

     All in all, I think study alone is better than study with a group of students. At least, it is suitable to me. I can study in my studies around the clock, and I can take a short nap at any time when I fell tired. I once got the first position in form, and I will continue to study alone.
