Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer

Recently, many people are complaining about their neighbors’ selfishness and inconsideration.  They always make loud noises at midnight.  It makes them unable to  sleep well.  In this essay, I am going to state the qualities of being a good neighbor.

A good neighbor should be quiet  in order to have tranquility in our neighborhood.  Some people  always like to play mahjong at midnight.  While they are playing, they always talk and laugh loudly.  This creates a lot of noise of high decibels and greatly disturb their neighbors. Some of them like keeping dogs at home.  Dogs bark from time to time.  The annoying noise makes people not concentrate on their work.  Especially for students, they would hardly concentrate when they are having  their revision.  In effect, their results will decline.  Some dogs continue barking throughout the night.  It makes their neighbors not  sleep well.  The efficiency of their work will be lowered since they don’t  sleep well.  Noise can greatly affect our daily life.

Not only not to make noise, the neighbors should keep a clean  building.  They should not  throw away rubbish on the floor, instead they should put them into a rubbish bin.  Otherwise, the whole building will be full of rats.  How can people live in such an environment?  Besides, some people like spitting on the floor instead of using tissue.  It is really annoying.  Some neighbors even just let their dogs defecate in the corridor or the lift of the building.  The faeces and urine are smelly.   They also contain many bacteria and will cause various kinds of diseases.  Our health will be affected.  In order to have a comfortable environment, we should keep the building clean.

Apart from keeping the building clean, the neighbors should always keep the corridor clear.  When they have some broken furniture, they  just leave them in the corridor.  It’s very dangerous.  Unfortunately, when the building is on fire, people will be very difficult to run away quickly as the corridor is blocked by unwanted furniture.  Our lives are at risk!  A good neighbor should put their unwanted things  in a suitable place instead of putting them in the corridor.

All in all, a good neighbor is very important to us.  They can give us help whenever we are in need. We should communicate more with our neighbor and build up a harmonious relationship with them.  A lot of problems can be avoided.  Having a good neighbor, we can live more happily.
