4. It has been said, ¡§Not everything that is learned is contained in books.¡¨ Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?
Nowadays, books are becoming more and more common in the world. There are many book shops or libraries around us. We can read books easier than before. So our horizon of knowledge becomes wider and wider. We can learn most of the knowledge from books; we also can learn from experiences. In this essay, I will argue that knowledge from experience is the most important than knowledge gained from books..
The more experiences you have, the
smarter you are. We can get knowledge about a place, but it is more valuable to
have experience to go there. We can learn and experience different cultures.
This is one of the skills that we
cannot learn from books. Through our experience, we can have a deeper memory of
what it is, and we can have feeling toward it. Understanding the other cultures
will avoid misunderstanding among people.
Knowledge
gained from experience is practical, whereas knowledge from books is theoretical.
Recently, companies like to employ
more experienced staff instead of people who have read a lot of books .
From my experience, I have applied for five
summer jobs but none of them hire me
because I do not have any work experiences. If you take a look at ' Career Times ', you can see that most of them prefer
experienced employees more than new graduates. This means the employers
will employ people who have
more work experiences, rather than knowledge from books.
In conclusion, knowledge we learn from books and experiences are both important to us but experiences are more important than books. The main reason of experiences is more important than books is that we can complete the required task by our work experience but not by knowledge from books.
