Nicholas Tse

Canton pop star Nicholas Tze Ting-fung was behind bars on 3 Oct 2002 after being convicted of switching drivers Shing Kwok-ting after crashing his Ferrari. Undoubtedly, everyone is equal before the law. Someone who breaks  the law will get his penalty. No matter if  you are rich or  poor, you must be punished fairly.

Although Nicholas is a singer, who is popular in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan, he deserves the penalty. I think the judge’s verdict is absolutely right. According to the case, if Nicholas did not swap the driver of his car, he would not be punished so heavily. In  my own opinion, Nicholas is a person who  is very irresponsible. If he reported to the police after crashing his car, he would receive a  fine , but not as heavy as the present penalty. We should be responsible for what we have done, and should not try to escape from problems and challenges. We should try our best to overcome  them! If Nicholas understands it, his future would not be ruined .

We should learn  a lesson from the incident of Nicholas. We should look  before we leap . Take an example. Nicholas must know that speeding  and swapping driver are against  the laws , but he still did them. Simply, he only wanted to have a  short-term excitement.  Obviously, he knew that he would be caught if his acts were seen by others. So why he still did so? I think it is mainly because he is  still very young and immature . Surely, I think his parents should bear a certain degree of responsibility too. Since his parents own a huge loan, so they sent their son to be an artist. When Nicholas gained fame and money, he did not know what he should do and should not do, as a result, he just tried to get excitements. If his parents could let him receive more education before being an artist, I think he would not commit swapping.

Moreover, we should be honest. If Nicholas was honest to the judge, I think the judge might have given him a chance. Honesty means to tell others the truth. The one who is  honest can gain the trust from others, although he/she does something wrong, others must try to forgive him/her, as he/she is brave enough to admit his/her faults. What  do you think about Nicholas? He lied, and his dishonesty destroys all his hopes in the future. It is not worth.

All in all, I think that Nicholas Tze deserves his own penalty. He is irresponsible, dishonest and short sighted, he did not care about other people safety. However, to err is human, if he repents his past mistake, we should give him another chance.
