Students are physically weak

Topic: More and more students suffer from poor health.  Write an article for the school magazine and discussing why students are physically weak, and suggesting ways to make students strong.

 

Do you have good health?  Do you maintain a healthy lifestyle?  In recent years, students in Hong Kong are physically weak.  They are always busy at dealing with their  homework, at the expense of their health.  It seems that they have overlooked the importance of staying healthy.  How can we exercise all our strength into our work without have good health?  In this essay, I am going to examine the reasons for students  being  physically weak and then I will suggest some ways to help students to be strong.

 

Students lack exercise. It is the prime factor leading to their poor health.    Form five and form seven students have to sit for HKCEE, or HKALE.  The public examinations, to a very large extent, determines what their future will be. Thus, they are confined to dedicating  all their strength to study round the clock.  Thus, they may gain results with flying colors.  They are complaining about not having a moment of leisure, how can they squeeze time to do exercise and keep themselves strong? due to lack of exercise, they may easily suffer from different kinds of diseases, such as the heart diseases, obesity, and the like.

 

Apart from having no exercise,  students enjoy taking fast food. The tempo in Hong Kong is fast. Many students like  having their meals in  McDonald¡¦s, KFC, Hardees¡¦ and the like.. However, most food, like French fries and fired chicken legs, contain high fat content and calories. We may easily overeat and become overweight. Eating a lot of oily food is  actually the crux of the problems.

 

On top of eating too much fast food, the whirlwind of being slim down spread around Hong Kong. To girls, they equate thinness with beauty. They will attempt to lose weight at any price.  Thus, they may skip their meals, or even take some slimming pills. How can we have energy to handle their daily routines? They will look pale and always feel lethargic. Hence, they will have no interest in working. Besides, many pills are proved to be futile in helping people lose weight, and they will adversely affect thier health. In the long run, they will become physically weak. Is it worth slimming down?

 

In fact, health is wealth. Only if we have good health, we  will be able to pursue our dreams and make them come true. Thus, we should not be myopic to focus on satisfying our appetite. Actually, there are a number of ways that can make us strong. We should spend half an hour on exercising every day, such as jogging at a park nearby, riding a bicycle, swimming, to list just a few. This can burn excessive fat in our bodies. Besides, we should, as a rule, have proper nutrition in the way to maintain a balanced diet. This includes carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamin and minerals should be contained in our meals based on the food pyramid. Thus, we should abstain from taking in too much fried or processed food. In addition, we should not work overnight, since sleeping plays a vital role in restoring energy . No matter how busy we are, we should sleep at least eight hours a day. Then, we can be healthy.

 

All in all, it is the high time for students to take heed of their doctors¡¦ advice. The unhealthy lifestyle should be nipped in bud. If we have good health, we will have colourful lives. Let¡¦s try our best to pursue good health!
