Problem and solution pattern

Have you ever tried drugs? Do you believe that taking drugs can solve all problems you encountered? Nowadays, more and more young people in Hong Kong are addicted to drug abuse. They claimed that taking drugs like cannabis, cocaine and heroin works miracles in unwinding themselves. Indeed, abusing drugs will only do harm to us. In this essay, I am going to examine the reasons for young people taking drugs and the harmful effect brought by drugs. I will also suggest some ways to promote education about drugs.

Young people are subjected to tremendous pressure in life and bored with their humdrum chores, which are the prime factors making them to be addicted on drug abuse. Youngsters, at their age, they always have to cloister themselves away with their books, so as to struggle for results with flying colors in the examinations. The great pressure may easily build up and weigh  them down. The young people may think their lives are colorless, since they always fall victim to the examinations. At that time, the young souls are enormously vulnerable, since they lack  experience and skills to cope with the stress thrown at them in life. Yet, they can find nobody listen to them and share their doom and gloom. They may easily go astray and misbelieve that taking drugs can bring excitement to their lives, or even can help them escape from reality, whenever they come across thorny difficulties in the daily routine.

Apart from the tough nuts in life, young people are curious and susceptible to peers  pressure. The new ‘fashion’drug abuse, may be regarded as maturity in the young souls. If they do not tailgate the trend, they may be labeled as an out-dated guys and their friends will alienate them. Thus, the youngsters are easily lured to take drugs and follow the trend blindly. Out of curiosity, they take drug.  In fact, they just turn a blind eye to the harmful effect that may make them laden with regrets  for the rest of their life.

On top of peer pressure,   the recent conduct of the pop stars set a bad model for youngsters. Roy Chow and Deep Ng were caught red-handed because of keeping drugs. However, they only have lenient punishment. Surly, this will convey a wrong message to the young souls that the cost of taking drugs is low . Besides, they always believe that their idols are flawless and place them on the pedestal, as they are still unformed and they lack  the ability to distinguish between right and wrong As a consequence, the young people follow the acts of their idols, i.e. taking drugs, but oversee the price they may have to pay.

Actually, it is crystal clear that abusing drug will have many harmful effects. Once the young souls get hooked on taking drugs, they will completely overwhelmed by this diabolic vice and can hardly get out of it. They have a burning desire and are not deterred from taking a larger amount of drugs more frequently. Those drugs are injurious to peoples bodies. In fact, it may damage the normal functions of liver, kidney and brain. They may lose their work, because of their poor health. Not only will they jeopardize their own future, but also they will have  a great burden to both family and society. It is not uncommon to hear that some drug addicts steal, just because they cannot afford to buy expensive drugs with strings attached. With no doubt, their future will be grim and all their relatives and friends will keep them at a distance.

All in all, it is high time for us to find some ways in controlling this rampant trend and this gives us much food for thought. Parents and teachers are responsible for enlightening the teens about the bad effects of taking drugs and weaning them away from drugs. It is surly better that just swearing at them. Television programs about the adverse effect of drugs addicts launched in series is also a good way in instilling right messages to the young. This can really arouse their alertness on taking drugs. I really do hope their devil habits can be nipped in the bud!
