Set4 Religion
Recently, there are many issues about religion around the world, such as a war on religion in India, no religion freedom in China. In effect, our principal asked us to prepare a wall poster so as to raise school¡¦s awareness of different attitude to religion around the world. In this discussion, we¡¦ll air my own feeling about religion first; the feeling of other young people then. We need to decide what should be put on the wall poster.
Freedom of religion is the most ideal situation. There are many religions over the world--- Christianity, Catholicism, and Buddhism. As we all know, the doctrine of these religions is to promote peace. They encourage a person to have conduct; to educate their believers not to do the wrong things. However, some subjective, extreme believers do not accept other religion believers so that they isolate or against other religions. Worst still, they attack other religion followers. Consequently, religion war occurs. That is against the initial doctrine of the religion. Therefore, I think the globe can promote the freedom of religion.
I had read an article about a young people, Dashi Gyatso, an eighteen years old youth. He lives in Tibetan. He was sent to a monastery by their parent when he was ten. He lives with other old monks there. Actually, I think it is a strange phenomenon because no parents in Hong Kong do this. However, sending children to live in a monastery is as normal as parents of other cultures sending their children to school. I think that different countries have different conventional culture. Therefore, we can also accept others.
Now, we¡¦ll talk about what should be put on the wall poster. As we mentioned before, ¡¥freedom of religion¡¦ is the most ideal situation. We can write ¡¥Freedom of religion is a prerequisite to a successful country¡¦ on the poster. I suggest drawing the earth with people who are wearing their traditional costume, and they are standing on the earth and holding hands together. In addition, we also can draw the different symbols of religions on the poster, such as, the cross. Moreover, we can use some colours be the background so as to attract the students¡¦ attention. In my opinion, we can join force with the Art club. Their members are good in drawing and they also can give us advice about the poster.
All in all, freedom is treasure in all aspects. We can inoculate this concept to our students. By the way, I do hope all students can have a chance to know more about the religion from this activity.
