As the 21st
century is coming, our society needs to help young people prepare for the millennium. At
the first meeting of our society, there will be a presentation of health issues in the
future. Hence, our committee members need to decide what we are going to discuss and why
they are important. In this report, I・ll state the
problem of teenagers and state the best way to organize the presentation.
Nowadays, obesity is
obviously a serious problem among the young people. There are a lot of fast food shops in
Hong Kong. Most of them sell delicious food with high content of calories, fat, and sugar
that are preferred by young people. However, the dietary fibre content of these foods is
usually very low. As a result, the people who eat these foods will easily get fat. The
young people like to eat this kind of food because they are good in taste. However, the
young people may not know the dire consequence of getting fat. They are likely to get
coronary disease. So, we think that we should write a booklet showing the contents of the
foods in fast food shops. In the booklet, the importance of eating vegetables should be
emphasized too. The effects of overweight should be highlighted so that people would pay
more attention to it. Besides, we can also suggest a series of balanced diet for the young
people.
AIDs is also a serious
problem that the young people need to face in the future. As young people fall in love at
a younger age, their curiosity and their immaturity may lead them to try sex. However,
most of them do not know the important of contraception because they do not know what the
responsibilities they need to face. If, unfortunately, the girls get pregnant, they need
to face pressure from parents. They need to afford the burden of having a baby under the
condition that they have no financial support. Apart from facing a lot of consequence,
they also need to face the risk of having sex diseases, for example, AIDs. Nowadays, the
young people like to have ．One Night Stand・. This will absolutely raise the risk of having sex diseases
because they have too many sex partners. Therefore, we can hold some exhibitions to show
the importance of contraception and how to use the contraceptive methods; for example, we
can hire some models to display how to use condoms. Furthermore, we should also list the
consequence of having sex on display boards. The most important thing that we should tell
the young people in the exhibition is the importance of having only one sex partner. It is
safe sex.
The best way to organize
the presentation at the first meeting of our society is using some software and displays
the information on the screen. The Microsoft software, PowerPoint, is the best software
that we can use for presentation. We can type all the things as well as some graphics on
the slides by using PowerPoint. On the day of presentation, we just need to push a button
of the mouse, and then the slides will be projected on the screen one by one. We can
explain in a more detailed way when the slides are displaying.

We can type all notes and paste some
graphics in the slides.
When the slides are displaying, we can
explain further.
