Ask for P.S.A. support
Dear Mr. Chan,
I am writing on behalf of the school Sports Club to ask for the P.S.A to support our club. As you may know, our club aims at encouraging more students to take part in sports. Therefore, we are planning to promote a popular sport among students. Therefore, it will be much better for us to organize the promotion with the Old Student
’s Association’s support.Our club has decided to promote basketball among students. Since basketball is a very popular sport all over the world, youngsters will be interested in playing a match. Moreover, the sport can also train students to co-operate with others as it requires teamwork. Through co-operation, students may get closer and become more familiar with one another. Hence, it can forge a closer tie between students. Once students are closer, harmony of atmosphere may be formed. By virtue of the fact that basketball requires teamwork, students can also acquire the interactive skills and communication skills through playing the sport.
In this aspect, some may argue that the promotion of basketball is only for boys. It is unfair to girls as most of the girls do not play basketball. Actually, it is utterly a misconception. Nowadays all over the world, it is not as traditional as before. In the past, it was not common to see girls playing basketball. However, things are always changing. In this modern world, we can watch various types of sports programs from television via satellites. As a result, people around the world can watch the greatest basketball games played by the NBA players. Thus, as watching the games, not only males, females also find the sport interesting and exciting or even get addicted to. Similarly, like other boys, girls set brilliant basketball players on a pedestal, such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, similar to their adoration to pop singers like Michael Jackson and famous football players like Ronaldo and David Beckham. As a result of
‘idol effect’, they may like to imitate their idols and participate in the sport.Actually, it is easy for our club to promote basketball as we have two basketball courts. In light of the advantages that the promotion may bring, we would like to ask help from P.S.A.
First of all, it is sound that if there are professional to display and teach us how to play the game as well as playing it well. It will also be good for students to learn the criteria of the sports by consulting the professional. Therefore, our club has decided to invite some professional basketball players as advisers and coaches for our promotion.
Apart from that, we have to make banners and display in order to disseminate the event. However, the tuition fee of professional basketball players, the cost of dissemination and other miscellaneous expenditures of the promotion would mean a large amount of money to our club. Therefore, it will be helpful if the P.S.A could sponsor our activity.
All in all, sports are wholesome and meaningful activities among all kind of players. We hope that our promotion will be successful. We will be grateful for your support.
